"I have taken a few classes with Gap Science now, and this class was probably my favorite. I truly thought building a program wouldnβt be that hard. I was completely wrong. It also makes you think about how you were trained and unfortunately how badly Iβve probably trained others. Having this class is an absolute MUST for any crime scene unit."

You know your Forensic Unit desperately needs to overhaul the training program, but you're wondering if this can be done...
...without having to figure everything out yourself
...without scrolling endlessly through Google and weed out training programs that don't apply to Forensic Units
...and without spending months of your time creating training materials just to realize your program isn't getting you the results you were expecting?
We're here to tell you:
YOU'RE NOT ALONE!
The majority of Forensic Units are in the same boat as you!
Listen, we know how overwhelming this can be! A training program (especially when building from scratch) is the most time consuming document to create - even more so than Standard Operating Procedures.
But it's not something you want to ignore and put on the back burner. Because you know when you really don't have time to create a training program? When you're short staffed and you have to train a new hire!
Unfortunately for us, we learned that lesson the hard way (and we 10/10 do not recommend)! But it doesn't have to be like that for you.
We've gone through all the ups and downs when it comes to create training programs for Crime Scene Investigators, Latent Print Examiners, and Evidence Technicians. We'd be lying if we said each experience didn't come with it's own stresses, but what we can say with certainty is it could be a whole lot worse without a streamlined process.
This process includes:
- Assessing your needs so you know where to focus your efforts
- Understanding the learning process for more impactful activities
- Setting up your modules in a logical order to increase retention
- ...and more!
We provide you with all the details AND additional resources!

Building a Training Program
Generate Rock-Star Employees in Your Forensic Unit with Comprehensive Training Programs That Actually Work
"GAP always puts on great classes, that are relevant to actual active duty people. They are engaging and informative and relatable."

Forensic Supervisor
Student in "Building a Training Program and Top Training Mistakes" Webinar
Hi! It's Ashley Church and Erin West, co-Owners of Gap Science
In 2018, we both transitioned into supervisory roles - Ashley over the Crime Scene Unit and Erin over the Latent Print Unit at a local Sheriff's Office in Central Florida.
Neither unit had an established training program and time was ticking! Both units were about to fill open positions with new hires, so one of our first priorities in our new roles was to create training programs (from scratch - yikes!).
Luckily we had each other to lean on, but we know many forensic professionals go through similar circumstances without much support. That's why we created Gap Science - to provide other forensic professionals with knowledge, training and resources we wished we had throughout our careers.
