If you're currently looking for a way to improve the evaluation process for your Forensic Unit that ...
...doesn't feel stale or pointless
...builds your team up to become better every year
...corrects errors and resolves issues within your unit
And is something that you can be proud of sending through your chain of command!
THE ANSWER:
Stop reverting back to "the way it's always been done"!
Listen, we know you may have doubts - especially if you've never delivered an evaluation before!
We were also in the dark at first (and didn't have the best examples to follow from our predecessors). It took some research and a lot of trial and error to figure out how to deliver effective evaluations.
Now we have a reliable 360-degree process in place. And while it does take much longer to prepare and execute these types of evaluations, it's well worth the effort!
This approach includes:
- Understanding what performance evaluations should accomplish
- Providing regular, more constructive feedback to your team
- Adding more components to the evaluations
- ...and more!
We provide you with all the details AND additional resources!

Elevating Your Performance Evaluations
Learn How to Deliver Feedback that Fosters Growth and Motivates Your Team
Hi! It's Ashley Church and Erin West, Co-Owners of Gap Science
In 2018, we both transitioned into supervisory roles - Ashley over the Crime Scene Unit and Erin over the Latent Print Unit at a local Sheriff's Office in Central Florida.
It wasn't long before we had to deliver our first annual evaluation. As we looked back to what had been done previously, we knew we needed to make improvements if we wanted performance evaluations to more than a box to be checked every year.
Luckily we had each other to lean on, but we know many forensic professionals go through similar circumstances without much support. That's why we created Gap Science - to provide other forensic professionals with knowledge, training and resources we wished we had throughout our careers.
